Things that I am grateful for & Why I think California rocks!

I have fun when I am not tuned in to my worries. I realize how much space I hold for things that has not happened yet.

I get carried away sometimes.

It takes me out of the present moment and it takes away so much emotional and mental energy!

So today, in order to celebrate my non-worried state of mind, I decided to share with you the things in my life that I am most grateful for. ;)

I am grateful for the gift of Friendship.
It feels good to be in a community where people show up for one another regardless of our differences. I have had friends disappear on me in the past, and vice versa. Some of it I regret while some others I don’t. It’s rough to want to show up and not know how. Oh well. Moving forward.
As my evolution continues (OUR evolution), I am learning how to be with people. It’s so beautiful to see and feel another human being’s spirit. It’s sacred.
So I am doing my best to show up (be available) for the people in my life and I look forward to more good times ahead!

I am grateful for the gift of Family.
I was very closed off when I left my hometown (Manila) at the age of 21. I didn’t have an honest relationship with my family but our distance gave me the space that I needed to grow so I can meet them halfway (as the old saying goes, “Absence makes the heart grow fonder!”). I love the relationship that I have with them now, we are much closer than ever! Skyping is fun!

I am grateful for the gift of Partnership.
Scott and I are blessed to be guided by love.
It’s so amazing to be a part of and witness the blossoming of another human being.

I am grateful for words and letters!
Such wonderful tools for expression and stimulation! Reading books is my favorite pastime…I indulge in getting to know the world that other people create. :)

I am grateful for modern technology.
Texting, e-mailing, the Internet, credit cards, airplanes, cars, and everything that brings us closer together!

I am grateful for music.
Listening to music moves me in ways I can’t describe in words. My soul smiles.

I am grateful for California.
For so many reasons. If I were to write my autobiography, I will never forget to mention in the book that my move to California is a major highlight in my life. Perhaps the biggest decision I have made (so far).
California is my Neverland and I am one of its many Peter Pans.
This is where I came to know bliss at its finest.
This is where I felt seen for the first time.
It is in California that I am reminded magic still exist.
This is the place where I woke up and learned caring for myself and others.
This is where I met, fell in love, and married Scott. This is where we plan to raise our kids someday. Where we live, I can just roll out of bed and get to the beach in less than 15 minutes. Santa Monica has an amazing public library! Openness is embraced in this town. The weather is fabulous! And the herbs? Phenomenal!!!

I am happy.

What are the things in your life that makes you happy and grateful?

xo,
D
